Without you

Four months without you,

The songs in your voice, the magic in your laugh.
The warmth of your bosom, the tenderness in your touch.
Your eyes, your moans, your restlessness,
The taste of your mouth, the aroma of your flesh.
Time standing still in your embrace, heart beating against the chest like cymbals.

At any moment, in any hour, helplessness,
With the blink an eyelid, in a sudden flash, trepidation.

With you, without you, a war rages;
Loosely held by the flimsiest thread of sanity.

Painfully swinging in the moments of our togetherness,
With arms open wide trying to snatch you from lost time.

Each passing day, reality slitting the throat of innocence,
A sharp razor cutting through the flesh of life.
A sad scary primitive song,
Wildly composing itself in the din of this loveless night.

Broken Embraces

Woke up this morning, you were gone,
Left my dwelling, for a shore afar.
Remember the night; it was lovely and temperate,
Held you at breath’s distance,
How did you break free?

Soaring above on a warm breeze,
Floating in arms to destinations infinite.
My eyes locked yours, dreams intertwined,
We didn’t call love, we kissed its peak
How could you break free?

Your face gleamed, my vision complete.
Our hands talked, our souls walked.
In unison as one, whole as none.
We rowed till dawn, the sun was about to come on.
When did you break free?

Here it comes and washes me off,
Your heavy odor, hardest to let go,
My kisses your neck, your hair my brow,
Your lips my fingers, our bodies like none before.
Why did you break free?

I suffer in the chest of God,
For my chest is not mine anymore
Runs like a Trojan horse,
In empty landscapes of mourn
That which was once your clown, my heart.

an ode to jim morrison

Some say he was a poet
Some say he was a ghost
Sashayed on parapets
Of roofs and lives alike

Punctured with images
From an otherwise plain childhood
They pinched him every now and then

He dabbled with pain
Death was his high
Words were his flight
The snake was his respite

He traveled all alone
Whether they were his barred caves
With Indians and lions

He talked only to himself
And listened only to himself
Writing fresh chapters
Experiencing gravity-less highs

Words cascaded from his mouth
In the voice of gods
He listened to his voice when it came out
And heard gods speak through him

He saw life standing from a bridge
Which parted the known from unknown!
And felt torn apart in both directions
Like he felt torn between Pam and the rest

He reached every unknown destination
Riding the alcoholic ocean
He saw ever light
Through the marijuana rings

He rejected all the circles
Of reason and boundaries
And only saw circles
That connected him to it all

He freed himself from the locks
Of the cages that we aren’t born with
He chose the wilderness of pain

the cosmic divide

Gabriel: O Lord! Why do you choose to send him down?

God: Wipe your tears Gabriel, he will come back.

Gabriel: The birth of life exalted creation,
And taught me envy when I bowed,
Made me believe him a superior being
His departure makes my vanity go vain.

God: O Gabriel! Only one disparity exist,
That set you and Adam apart
Being my companion for so long,
You can see the boundaries and he can’t.

Gabriel: What boundaries my Lord!
I don’t know any!

God: The border! O Gabriel! Look down.
And see my Satan standing on the other side,
Your brother, who questioned my capability,
And was expelled yesterday.

Adam is unaware for I didn’t tell him
The plight of those who don’t recognize.

The line which was drawn,
On the day Satan betrayed me,
And declared his parallel universe,
With evil and indulgence as its mast.

I send Adam with the power to reason,
The power to challenge and realize,
May he resurrect my poise!
Which Satan so brutally crucified.

Gabriel: But why don’t you choose to educate him?

God: I educate him Gabriel,
Through the vessel of experience
The mother of all teachers
And the father of all trial.

The mother shows the streak,
That treads between good and evil.
Bouquet of thorns paved,
Glorifying the judgment between love and hate.

Gabriel: Lord! Your words are fodder to my imagination,
And your creation supreme.
Being supreme its repercussion can be extreme
And the resurrection might rebound.

God: Do not be scared my Gabriel!
For I do see the divide created,
By him amongst themselves,
Metamorphose into sects, nations, communities,
Forgetting my message and going blind.

Gabriel: Then what makes you throw him,
Into that goblet of suffering and conflict.

God: Gabriel! This defines the border between you and me,
I see the unseen and revel in the unknown, foresight.
The Creator bears a state-of-the-art arrogance,
More so than any Satan.

Adam will justify the cosmic arrogance,
With attainment being his sole object,
Spread my word as he masters the cradle,
Be my messenger as well as audience,
My God as well as Satan.

Gabriel: Go Adam! Best of luck.
In the name of the Lord,
The most beneficent and merciful.
